ADI Part 1 cost and the fees to qualify
These are the fees set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. Fees for driving instructor training are separate and are set by training organisations.
Test fees
- These are the fees for Great Britain. There are different fees for taking the ADI qualifying tests and registering in Northern Ireland. [1]

- ADI Part 2 test: £111. [1]
- ADI Part 3 test: £111. [1]
- You have to pay the full amount again if you do not pass a test and want to take another one. [1]
Licence and registration fees
- Trainee driving instructor licence: £140. [1]
- First ADI certificate (badge): £300. [1]
- You renew your registration every 4 years, and renewal costs £300. [1]
