ADI Part 1 hazard perception
The hazard perception test is the second part of ADI Part 1. You take it in the same sitting as the multiple-choice questions and you must pass both.
The format
- These rules apply in Great Britain. The ADI part 1 test works differently in Northern Ireland. [1]
- You can have a break of up to 3 minutes after the multiple-choice questions, before the hazard perception test starts. [1]
- You watch 14 video clips of everyday road scenes. Each clip contains at least one developing hazard, and one clip contains 2. [1]
- A developing hazard is something that would cause you to take action, like changing speed or direction. [1]
How it is scored
- You can score up to 5 points for each developing hazard. To get a high score, click as soon as you see the hazard starting to develop. [1]
- You do not lose points for a wrong click, but you will not score anything if you click continuously or in a pattern. [1]
- You only get one attempt at each clip and cannot review or change your responses. [1]
- The pass mark is 57 out of 75. [1]
